...It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to my
family! As usual though I am guilty of the sin of omission. It seems that I have skipped several relevant chapters of this riveting story. So, now I must atone. I must begin at the beginning, but where is the beginning? This is the question that plagues me! Aha, but alas my muse has come and rescued me from this literary dilemma! I will begin with my humble college days!
... And now, the first glimpse of the author. This is
me on the right. In the background is my arch nemesis, The Virginia Military Institute and to my left is my partner in crime, Scott Coleman. We spent four years at the "institute" paying our dues and eventually earning our degrees in biology. Life there was tough, but never what you could call uneventful! In retrospect, there are countless fond memories. Cadet life was trying! It tested our pride and physical stamina, but more importantly it developed our sense of honor! Here we were stripped of our identity and built back up as "men" disciplined and strong. May we never forget our heritage, the ideals that we learned here or the friendships that were forged!
Next Stop, United States Army! My friend
Brian (on my left in the picture) came to my graduation from Basic Training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. Here we are making a "jail break" and getting ready to head into town. Shortly afterwards, I was assigned to my permanent duty station at the Institute of Surgical Research located at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. Here I met many friends, who would change my life (Vinny and the rest of the MTR-OR crew you know I'm talking about you guys!), got several years experience in the biomedical research field and most importantly met Gwen and Stephanie, who would change my life forever!
Yep,
This is Gwen (left) and Stephanie (right)! These two made me happy and complete! It seems that these two were able to teach me lessons that neither the Army nor The Virginia Military Institute could. In particular, they taught me about happiness and love. From here things really started to move quickly. We all realized how much that we meant to each other and soon we were wed, becoming one big happy family!
The
wedding was beautiful! With God, our friends and our family in attendance the day was complete! Our happiness was begun and this story draws to a close. A fitting ending to what sometimes feels as if it were a fairy tale...
However, I cannot end this story with a clear conscience without mentioning my best friend,
Freddy (to my left), who rightfully took his place as my best man! He is a true friend! Freddy, we can never thank you enough for the huge part that you played in our wedding!

In Loving memory of my father,
William Lawrence Hatcher! Dad, you taught me a lot in the short time we had together. I hope that you are looking down and smiling at the man that I have become!
Mom thanks for all of your love and support over the years! No one will ever be able to say you weren't always there for me!
Thanks for keeping me on track and

To my
