1987 GRAND NATIONAL

This is my 87 GN.  I bought the car in September, 97 from the original owner.  It was completly stock with 63,000 Miles on it.  I think I made it about ten days before I went to the track with it.  My best for the day was a 14.3@92mph.  I have heard of alot better,  but I was happy.

Oct.  97

So far all I have done is put and ATR adj. fuel pressure regulator ,EFI Street Thrasher chip, and a VDO boost guage.  My best pass like this was a 14.1@97 mph.  I could not get any traction with the Goodyear 215 65 15's.  It spun a good part of the way down the track.  Hopefully It will do mid to high 13's if I get it to hook.

March 22, 1998.. after putting on the tires, the fuel pump, and a 8" K&N ran a 13.89@98mph.  Its getting better, but not enough.  I WANT 12's.

May 15, 1998  added a pinion snubber and used a couple gallons 114.  best of the night  13.41@102mph

Nov.1, 1998   added a Terry Houston DP & a MM street chip.  with 16-17#s of boost on 93  octane I did a 13.15@105.38mph.   Will I ever get in the 12s

Sept. 99   with a te44 I pulled off a 12.90@104mph with a 1.92   60'  time.  Running pump gas and 18 psi of boost. Not great but its a 12

October 2000  Bolted on a set of slicks and added a transbrake.  10psi launch picked up the front wheels and netted a 12.16@109.88mph.  This is still with a MM street chip and 20#s of boost.   11.90s here I come.

This spring I hope to spice her up a little.   I hope(looking for 12's :)  (NOT)  11's

1. more tire....265 50 15's      Done..BFG TA Radials  hope they hook a little better and a set of used MT slicks

2. a walbro fuel pump and wiring upgrade  Done..MM OPS pump and Caspers wiring kit

3. K&N air filter      8" K&N

4. K&N for passenger side valve cover   Done

5. pinion snubber and at least one air bag    Done

6. 160 themostate  Done

7. trans cooler.  Done

8. drive shaft loop  Done

9. and maybe (cross my fingers) a te44   Done

10. CAS  V4
