She has the Regional record in each event and overall, and has jumped further and tricked a higher score than any other Regional female skier.
Personal: 5 foot, 1/2 inches tall (the 1/2 inch may not be true), brown hair and blue eyes. She plays an awesome game of soccer when she’s not skiing and she has the school record for the most pull-ups, better than any boy or girl. Susie is a member of the National Honor Society despite training in Florida during much of the Spring. She trains with the Sparta Water Skiers (Lake Holly, Timberlake and Lohr’s Lake) and at Jack Traver’s Sunset Lakes. She is sponsored by Mastercraft Boats, O’Brien, Masterline and Peace Frogs.

Susie...... Perhaps the smallest pro skier, but she packs a lot of personality and skill in that small package. Watch a hundred pounds of muscle fly 131 feet through the air.
She’s a tough sixteen year old three-event skier who’s barely 5 feet tall and weighs in at 100 lbs, but jumps over 130 feet and tricks over 6,000.
She’s from Sparta, Va., a small village of no more than 100 people, where you drive to the next town to get a hamburger, but have 3 choices as to where you slalom, trick ski, or jump.
She was compared to a hackney pony running with the thoroughbreds by Water Skier Magazine, but she beat the thoroughbreds and won the Nationals.
Susie has won the Nationals in each of the three events, and overall. Her best events are Jumping and Trick Skiing.
Susie’s brother Benny trains with her on their private mill pond in their front yard.
Susie was featured as a Hot Shot in Sports Illustrated for Kids, and has been on the United States Junior Team for the last two years.
Susie won the Junior Masters Jump Title in 1996.
Susie says second place is the first loser.
Susie loves to coach skiing, from tots on trainers to her grandfather.
She attends Caroline High School, and the administration and teachers help her train in Florida by sending her assignments to her. They “don’t let school get in the way of her education.”
Susie is sponsored by Mastercraft, O’Brien, Masterline, and Peace Frogs; and Mom and Dad.
